Ahh! You guys! It is finally here, my 31 Days of Gratitude challenge! I am so excited to share it with all of you and to embark on this journey with you! I can’t wait to get started on this new journey with all of you.
So before we get too far into it, I want to start off by explaining where this idea came from. I get asked all the time how I am so positive and happy the majority of the time. This question gets asked by you guys, by my friends, and even my family. So, I started thinking…why am I so happy all the time? The answer was simple, I am grateful for where I am and where I have been. While I am not perfect at it, I practice gratitude regularly enough to where I am in a positive mindset. I am grateful for my past experiences, my accomplishments, and where I put my dreams at.
Another big thing I do is practice radical self reflection. I am constantly thinking about what I have accomplished (or haven’t accomplished) and doing so really helps me to see the good. I see all of the amazing things I have done on my own and even where I have failed. Doing this makes me, you guessed it, feel grateful for the times in which I achieved. Wanna try it out? That’s where the 31 Days of Gratitude comes in to play.
This is a month long practice of gratitude. This is a month long practice of being present for a few minutes a day. This is a challenge to slow down and reflect on all of the amazing things you are doing.
The idea is simple, take two minutes a day and write down something you are grateful for. Think about your day and write one thing down that made you grateful. It does not have the be a big, major deal. It can be as simple as, “I am grateful for the clothes I am wearing today because they make me feel good.” That’s practicing gratitude! It’s so easy to do and once you start being grateful for the little things, you might notice that you are naturally being more grateful for more.
It’s so easy. Just write down something you are grateful for once a day and if you want, share it on Instagram using the hashtag, #31DaysofGratitude! I will also be taking part in this challenge on my own Instagram so if you want to follow my 31 days, feel free to follow me here!
You can write down the things you are grateful for on a piece of paper, in your phone, or on this free template that I made specifically for this challenge. If you want access to the templates, you can find them here! I hope these help you organize your thoughts and see all the things that made you grateful for throughout the month!
The point is to become more mindful. I have found that the more mindful I am, the better I feel and the more positive I am. When I practice gratitude, I find that I am more appreciative for myself, for my life, and I am just happier. Plus, there is no harm in at least trying, right?
I am SO excited to be doing this with all of you. I hope that you want to join in with me on this 31 day journey. Hopefully by the end of it, we see differences in our mindsets, our attitudes, and our overall happiness. How do you like to practice gratitude?
