So remember when I said I was going to post this post like five days ago on my Instagram? Yeah me too. Well here it is finally! I have been wanting to do a blog post about my three favorite hairstyles for awhile now, especially since I get asked quite often if I do my own hair. Heck yes I do. My mom was lovely enough to teach me to braid and now I’m obsessed. Braids are such a staple in my life that two of these looks include braids. So, without further ado, here are 3 easy hairstyles for everyday!
The Braided Bangs
Okay so I don’t currently have “bangs” so to speak, but I do part my hair down the side so I like to braid the more dominant side back sometimes. This style is a really easy dutch braid just down the side of my head! Once I get about half way back, I stop dutch braiding it and braid it out normally all the way down to the ends of my hair. To make it big and chunky, I just pull apart the braid pieces a little bit. This style is great when you want to wear your hair down but not have it in your face all day!
The Braided Mohawk
This hairstyle is so fun and definitely a statement look. This braided mohawk look would look even cooler if you curled your hair or had it in messy loose waves. In order to achieve this look, I simply took the top half of my hair and dutch braided it down the middle of my head. Once I hit the back part of my head, I braided it out like normal to finish off the braid. Again, I pulled the braid apart to make it a little more messy and big!
The Half Up Half Down Messy Bun
Okay this style came into popularity about two years ago and ever since then everyone is wearing it. Even guys are rockin’ it as the ever beloved “man bun”. This look is super simple, you just grab the top half of your hair and put it in a messy bun. Boom. You’re ready to rock the day! Pull the bun a little looser in order to really play up the messiness of the look and you’re ready to go!
These looks are seriously so simple to pull off in under 15 minutes! If you aren’t sure of how to french braid or dutch braid, there are TONS of YouTube videos you can look at to learn from. It took me forever to get to this point with my braiding skills but I am so glad I have them! Which look is your favorite? What is your go-to hairstyle?
