How To Style: A Floral Dress

How often do you wear florals? Personally, I wasn’t super into them until I found this dress from Old Navy and then everything changed. Florals are so feminine and perfect for both summer and fall. If you are a little bit unsure about floral prints, check out how I styled this¬†floral dress!¬†

How adorable is this dress?! Like I said, I picked it up at Old Navy back in March and have loved it ever since. It is unfortunately sold out, so I will link something similar to shop down below! Like every other outfit I wore at the beach, I paired it with my favorite brown slip-on sandals from Madewell. I love this dress because the floral pattern isn’t too overwhelming and the shape is super flattering. In the fall, I will pair this dress with the same shoes and add a denim jacket to make it appropriate for student teaching! Or, you could pair it with a simple cardigan to wear to class.

How do you like to rock floral prints? I have a feeling they are going to be a big trend this fall and we will be seeing them everywhere! The most important thing to keep in mind with florals is to not over do it. You don’t want to look like you had a flower throw up all over you. Keep it simple, and pair your floral piece with a basic. For example, pair a cute floral top with some skinny jeans or a floral printed skirt with a basic tee. Let the floral piece be the staple of your outfit!

Floral prints are so pretty for spring, summer, and fall! Do you own any floral pieces? What’s your favorite way to rock them? Let me know! I’m always looking for inspiration!

  1. I’m a big fan of florals myself :). I have a high waisted floral skirt that I pair with a white sleeveless crop top. For my floral shirts, I usually pair with high waisted pants or regular jeans with the bottoms rolled up. For dresses, I usually pair them with tights (if the weather is cooler) and lace up flats. I love your dress it’s so pretty and colorful.
