How many of you listen to podcasts? I am assuming a few of you because when I mentioned the podcasts I listen to on my Instagram stories a few weeks ago, I got SO MANY questions! Personally, I love listening to a variety of podcasts while I am at work or driving. They are a great way to pass the time and listen to something other than music. If you are in need of some awesome pods to listen to, here are my recommendations!
Dear Sugars is a podcast that I heard about from one of my favorite YouTubers, Ingrid Nilsen, through her own podcasts (which is also on this list!). This podcast is two people, a man and a woman, and is a general life advice podcasts. They read listener letters and give these writers honest, empathetic advice. So many of their podcasts his close to home and are great for a longer drive. You can find this podcast, and the rest on this list, on iTunes.
This is a new podcast for me and I am LOVING it. This podcast is brought to us by Jane Perrone, a funny, plant loving Brit who interviews other plant loving people. From the episodes I have listened too, she interviews plant famous people from Instagram and asks them about their planty lives. Why they have the plants they do, how they manage their plants, what interests them so much about plants. If you are a plant lady like me, this one is for you!
Like I said before, Ingrid Nilsen’s podcast is another one of my favorites. It is hosted by Ingrid herself and her friends (and fellow YouTuber) Kat Valdez and is another advice podcast. They cover so many topics and each podcasts is themed around a general topic. Most times the theme is based off of a letter they have received but often times they are inspired by pop culture and things happening in the world. Kat and Ingrid are two very different people so sometimes they don’t agree on something, but that is why the podcast is so great. You get two different views on the same situation and it makes you think.
What can I say, I love a good plant podcast. In Defense of Plants is a plant podcast that is not for the faint of heart. It is truly an educational podcast which is great if you are super into plants but not great if you just sorta like plants. I personally enjoy learning and this podcast has taught me a lot. The host of this podcast is a straight up plant nerd and I love listening to him interview others on their love of plants. I usually find myself thinking harder while I listen to this pod so if you are more of a light-hearted podcast listener, this one might not be for you.
In large contrast from In Defense of Plants, I bring you Bloom & Grow Radio. A plant podcast for all my houseplant lovers out there. This little podcast talks about plant care, how to not kill your succulents, and the importance of repotting. The host interviews other plant people out there and gets advice on how to be the best plant parent. This one is fun to listen to whenever and doesn’t take to much of your time. If you are a house plant rookie like myself, you may find this one incredibly beneficial to listen too.
by far the most inappropriate of all my podcasts, PsychoBabble is a hilarious good time. With the lovely red E for explicit rating, this podcast is not for those who blush when sex gets brought up. Hosted by Korey Kuhl and Tyler Oakley, it is two gay guys talking about pop culture and their own personal stories. This podcast leaves me laughing and thinking about my own personal life every time. But seriously, don’t listen to this on speaker with your grandma around…I am warning you!
Do you listen to any of these pods? Within the last year I have fallen in love with all of these podcasts for varying reasons. Each of them make me think and make me laugh at one point or another. What podcasts do you listen to?
