I don’t know if this is entirely true, but I once heard that the only place you can wear denim on denim is in Canada. I don’t know where or when this inclination came to be but I disagree with it entirely. Denim on denim is a look and a look that needs to be worn more often. If you are unsure as to how to style such a look, check out how I styled this denim on denim look while on vacation in Charleston!
Seeee? You can totes rock the denim on denim look! It’s actually pretty easy too with the help of a chambray shirt. To put together this look, I paired my favorite chambray shirt from Madewell with my favorite denim shorts from Gap! I finished this whole look off with my new sunnies from Nectar, a printed pouch from Madewell, and my suede Adidas Gazelles. I tied my chambray shirt in the front to give the look a little more detail. I love this look for a hot day outside or even heading to class!
Chambray shirts are a closet staple because they are so versatile. I actually one the one pictured and a long sleeved version as well so I can rock the chambray look year round. They are simple and classic and are an easy throw-on piece to go to class in. If you don’t already own one, I have linked some of my favorites down below!
