Wedding Planning Update! Venues, Photographers, Caterers, and More!

Happy wedding planning update friends! As promised, I will be doing one wedding post a month to keep you updated on the progress Lucas and I are making! If you missed the first update, you can check it out right here. But for now, here is a big wedding update where I share our venue, photographer, caterer, and more! 

First things first, the venue! This was the first decision that Lucas and I made because we knew it was going to be pretty booked up. Last summer my mom and I went to visit our venue as a preemptive measure to see it so we wouldn’t have to wait to make the decision. I was obsessed as soon as I got there. Lucas and I will be getting married at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and you guys, this place is beautiful. It is an old plantation and that has now been turned into a public garden. We will specifically be getting married at the Carriage House and I am SO excited! 




The next thing we booked was our wedding planner because with having our wedding at Magnolia, we were required to have one. At first, this really put me off because I saw it as an added expense we wouldn’t need. The reason you have to have one though, is because Magnolia is a historical site and they want to make sure someone is at the event to overlook the integrity of the property. Instantly, I started doing my homework. After some intense searching, I came across Pinnacle Worry Free Weddings and knew they were perfect. So far, I am loving my decision. Nicki is amazing and has helped us save money twice now between our food and rentals! Nothing beats that in my opinion!

After getting the venue and the planner, I knew the next thing to lock in was a photographer. And let me just say this, pictures are expensive. I searched and searched and really struggled to find someone that I liked and was in my budget. Even after finding someone, I still went over budget! I will be doing a more in depth post about this so for now, let’s just leave it at that 😉 After going through many online portfolios, I decided to use Rachel Craig Photography for my wedding! I am SO STOKED to have her shoot our wedding. I love her style and honestly, she is so cool I want to be her friend IRL. Go check out her Instagram because its actually stunning!

And finally, the last thing we have decided on is our caterer. Based off a recommendation from our planner, Lucas and I have decided to use B.Gourmet Catering for our catering needs. Like flowers, food is crazy expensive and we knew we needed to stay on a budget. Thankfully for B.Gourmet, they helped me do just that! Plus, because we are working with Nicki at Pinnacle, they gave us a 10% discount! Yay for saving money! The sales representative was so awesome about working with me and answering my hundred questions and giving me multiple menus to look at. They also added personalized food options to fit things we wanted to serve at our wedding (hint, hint, mini-pizza bites!). I cannot wait to do our first tasting with them and meet their amazing team!

There is it, all the updates I have for ya. We have been working so hard on planning and getting the big things figured out early on so we can work on the smaller details later. Planning a wedding is a lot of work so I hope you all enjoyed this second update!
