Howdy, howdy, hey friends! I am so excited to share with all of you how I work out at home on the days that I don’t feel like going to the gym. On a pretty consistent basis I find myself not wanting to go to the gym but I still feel the need (and want) to workout. Over the years I have curated my favorite workouts to do at home AND my favorite resources for finding a way to be fit at home! If you are looking for something new, here is how I workout at home!
One of my favorite things to do in order to workout at home is doing a YouTube workout! They are easy, quick, and completely FREE! Plus, if you have something like a Roku stick or a smart TV, you can stream them directly on your TV. And if not, you can just set your computer up in a good spot and get your sweat on. Here are some of my favorites to workout with!
I have been practicing yoga online with Yoga with Adriene for years now! She started on YouTube and has grown into her own business and to watch her grow has been amazing. I love her yoga practices because they are fun, spirited, and reflective. I never leave the mat feeling like I didn’t get what I wanted from my practice. She has videos from 15 minutes up to a full, hour and twenty minute long practice. She also has a fundamentals playlist where you can learn the yoga basics if you are a complete beginner! If you want to workout with the happiest person on the internet, you need to workout with Casey Ho. She is the QUEEN of pilates or what she has created, POP pilates and her workouts are no joke. You will leave feeling sore but strong! I love her videos because they are quick, to the point and leave me feeling like I got a good workout in. I love Casey because she takes no crap and is the boss of who she is. Another YouTube channel where the workouts are no joke. Daniele and Kelli are two personal fitness instructors who have HUNDREDS of amazing workouts that you can do both at home and at the gym. Some of them require weights but they also have videos where you need no equipment at all. I love working out with Kelli (mainly because I like having a female instructor) but both of them are pretty great. Sometimes when I want a guided workout, I take my computer with me to the gym and play their workouts off of it for a great sweat. The other big thing I love to do at home to get in a quick workout is to do some workout routines off of Pinterest! Pinterest is chock FULL of ideas, routines, and inspirations for working out at home! If you need a good starting place, I have a whole board on my Pinterest titled “Work It Out” that you can scroll through for TONS of ideas. They are all super easy and can be done at home with as little as a yoga mat!
Honestly, working out at home is always a great alternative to going for a run or heading to the gym. I find that during the colder months, I work out more and more at home because it’s just to cold to go anywhere else (and my laziness is far higher than when it is warm 😉).
