So since it is a brand new month, we have a brand new theme of the month. And since it’s November, it just made sense for me to make our theme of the month be gratitude. Or in other words, being thankful, right? In the United States, Thanksgiving lands in November, maybe you are from Canada, or you live in a different country, you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Either way, we aren’t going to be talking about gratitude all month long on this podcast, you know, by now, if you have listened to more than like three or four episodes, or you follow me on Instagram, or you’re on my email list, how important and how much of a gratitude nerd I am. And so all month long, we’re going to be unpacking gratitude, talking about mindset shifts that we can make to have more gratitude, and all other things in between of literally all things gratitude. So if you are ready to dive into the topic of gratitude and unpack it with me, let’s go ahead and jump right into it. So since today’s episode is a hype girl chat, we are going to keep this short, sweet and to the point. And I am going to be giving you a simple mindset shift for the things that you are less than grateful for. Because here’s the truth. There are going to be things situations, maybe people, experiences that we have in our life currently, or we have had in our life in the past, that we aren’t super grateful for them, right? They’ve been challenging, maybe they brought us pain, maybe they cause us anxiety, maybe they were just things that we had to spend money on that we didn’t want to spend money on. And when we think about them, they maybe bring us a little bit of discomfort or pain or again, anxiety, how can we reframe our mindset around these things, so that we aren’t grateful for them, but we can kind of appreciate them a little bit more. So that way, when they live in our brains, and they live in our hearts, they aren’t so heavy, right? Because I know, I know, I personally do. And I’m sure you do, too. Listening to this episode, we all have things in our life that we feel really soured towards, right. And they they live in our mindset and in our hearts set in that kind of sour attitude and that sour mindset. And it makes us really hard to live with that and carry that with us. So I wanted to share this really simple mindset shift for those types of things. Hopefully, by now you’re like, Yep, I have something like that. I’m thinking about it right now. So that way, you can continue forward feeling a little bit lighter and feeling a little bit less heavy, because you have that thing, or you have experienced that situation before and go on with your life feeling a little bit lighter and a little bit more grateful. So here is the mindset shift for you. And this is something that I do in my life all the time, especially when things feel really challenging and feel really hard, is I remind myself and I switch my my way of thinking towards this situation or thing or person or whatever, to focus on the fact that it’s teaching me something, and I’m learning something, whether I want to learn it or not. And that I can be grateful for learning that lesson in the situation and in the season of life that I’m currently in. So let me give you a really big, really good example. Okay. I’m going to use the example of my house because if you have followed me on Instagram for the last almost two years, you know that my house the house that my very first house that I bought with my husband, we bought it back in January of 2021. Literally ever since we have purchased this house, it has been the biggest the thing in our life, it’s been extremely expensive. We have had to spend 1000s upon 1000s of dollars on repairs, we’ve had it flood we have had roofing issues, we have had stucco issues like this house has been a whole thing, since we signed the name our names on the dotted line. And I could and could have been the last two years since we have had thing after thing after thing happened with this house. viewed it as this is you know like this sucks. This is really hard. I hate our house. I hate everything about it. Like I want to move, rent, rent, rent, rent, rent, right? And don’t get me wrong, like I have said those things. I have felt those things. We are currently moving and I am excited to move. But I still have had to live in this house that continues to kind of give us problems the last two years and so I have either been able to make the choice to view it as this really sucky situation. We’re in this house that continues to have problems that costs us 1000s and 1000s of dollars. Or I could use it and view it as a learning opportunity. And what I will and will not do the next time I buy a house. So sorry to interrupt the show my dude but I have some exciting news. As I need to share with you right now, are you ready? I am so excited to share it that the sunshine squat monthly membership has officially launched to everyone. Or you can go find more information over on my Instagram, which is at living the letter N sunshine. And I cannot wait to see you in there. And it was unfortunately an unfortunate lesson that we had to learn. But we still had to learn it right. So this whole time that we have lived in this house. Yes, I have been frustrated. Yes, there have been multiple frustrations with living in this house. But I have continued to remind myself that this is teaching me something that I needed to learn as an adult, as a homeowner as being in a married relationship with someone else in CO owning a house with someone else, right? Like we have to sometimes experience hard things to learn the lesson that they have to teach us. And I want to give you another example in case like my house, one isn’t, you know, applicable to you. Like, let’s say that you are currently in a job that makes you unhappy, you feel stuck, or you feel stifled. Or you feel like you aren’t creative enough in your job, whatever. Like it’s just not what you want to do. But it’s your job. And you are currently in a season of life where you either have to stay at that job, or the thing that you would rather do you can’t currently say yes to because it’s just the season that you’re in, right. I’ve been there before you guys. The last I would say six months of working as a full time retail manager, I really struggled with my mindset with my job because I just didn’t want to do it anymore. It wasn’t fulfilling. It didn’t feel like it was my purpose, my higher my higher calling. And I really struggled with that. But again, I switched my mindset to ask myself, What is this season? What is this experience? What is this job teaching me that will help me to grow and carry those lessons forward with me? Because I know that this season will end. And I think that that last part is something that we forget is that we think that we’re stuck, right? We believe and we so easily fall into the mindset of this is my forever, right? How often have you thought, oh my god, this is gonna be my life for the rest of forever. I know that I have, when really that’s not the case, we always and forever have the power to make the decisions and make what we believe is the best choice for us to change and pivot out of a season that we aren’t feeling fulfilled in. And again, sometimes making that pivot and making those decisions. And those changes can be really difficult and might not be something that you can do right now. But it can be something that you can do in the future. So as you sit in your right now of this job that you hate, or a house that is falling apart or whatever, you need to switch your mindset and work to to flip your mindset to tell yourself and remind yourself that this is teaching you something right. This job is teaching you lessons that you need to learn to get to where you want to go. This house that is falling apart is teaching you something that you need to learn to go forward to be more mindful and intelligent and experienced to make your life in the future better. The relationship that you’re in right now that you’re like, oh, I don’t really know about this dude, I’m really sure about this guy. He’s teaching you something. He’s helping you to recognize things in yourself and learn things about yourself that you will carry forward with you once you leave that current season of life that you’re in. So that is the simple mindset shift. And I promise you it sounds. It sounds as if I’m telling you that like you deserve what’s happening. And that’s not what I’m saying. And it sounds like sometimes I feel like sometimes people take this advice of like everything happens for a reason. And some like you have to struggle to be able to improve. That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m encouraging you to do is to give yourself the relief of a mindset shift that is so simple and sometimes kind of challenging to make. I’m Not gonna lie, but that will carry you forward feeling a little bit lighter, right? When you make that decision to switch your mindset to be more focused on what is this teaching me, and less so on. This sucks. And this is really hard and I hate this, you will go forward feeling more positive and lighter because things like this is really hard and this sucks and I hate this that’s heavy. That’s a heavy emotional load to carry with you for a season of life that could last like months and months or over a few years. That’s a lot to carry. And that’s that’s a lot of weight to carry for a long period of time. The best thing that you can do for yourself is work to live in this new mindset of this is teaching me something and I can learn something from this because I promise you you will feel lighter when you do and my friend that is everything that I have for you today. I hope this was a reminder that you needed to hear if it was let me know over on Instagram, send me a DM I love chatting with you guys about the podcast. If it wasn’t, I want you to send this episode to someone who you think needs this reminder today. I know that there is someone either yourself or someone in your life who could use this simple mindset shift to lessen the load of emotions that they’re carrying in the current season of life because they’re currently dealing with or experiencing something really challenging. And this small mindset shift does so much for your mindset and your heart set that it deserves to be shared with a friend today. Until next time, my friends I am sending you all the sunshine good vibes and I hope you make it a great day. That is all I have for you today my dudes and I hope you love today’s episode.
