Maddy 0:08 Welcome to the living in sunshine podcast if you don’t know who I am, my name is Maddy. And I am so excited to have you tuning in to our weekly podcast episodes, where we chat all the things from tips and tricks to funny stories from my life that have helped me to truly live in the sunshine. In this space, we are all about encouraging, inspiring and giving you the tough love that you need to hear sometimes to realize that you are totally made for more than what you currently have in life, and that you hold the power to make the changes that you need to level up and live your best self. So buckle up, grab some water and let’s get into it. Hello, hello and welcome back to the living in sunshine podcast. My dudes, we have a jam packed Episode Four today, I’m not gonna waste any time with any announcements or any mumbo jumbo at the beginning, I’m not gonna lie all of my mumbo jumbo is usually very important. But today I am sharing with you 22 Things that I am grateful for in 2022. What because I feel as if I feel like this needs to be like a yearly installment. I know that each year I share like my big vision for the next year and like my goals for the year. I feel like I need to do like however many years it is like that number of things that I’m grateful for for that year. So I’m starting in 2022. I’m starting it in 2022. And we’re gonna dive right into this. Some of these are going to be rapid fire. Some of these I might elaborate on if there’s any that I don’t elaborate on enough, and you want to know more about it or you want to know more like why I’m grateful for it. Send me a message on Instagram and I can 100% Make it happen. So thing number one is that I am so grateful for is that Lucas and I are finally making the moves to move somewhere. I have always wanted to be an in case you missed that announcement. Lucas and I are moving. Yes, again. Yes, within two years of buying our house. It’s a whole long story. But we are moving to Charleston, South Carolina, not technically like Charleston, Charleston, we’re looking in the like Somerville Ladson. There’s another city that I don’t remember, I keep like every day, I’m on Zillow looking. But we are moving and we’re moving to South Carolina, we’re moving we’re going to be about like an hour hour and a half away from my mom, which has me really, really excited. This has been something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now. But because of jobs and circumstances and all of the things that hasn’t been able to happen, we’re making it happen. By the time this podcast comes out, our house should be on the market. So cross your fingers that our house sells in like 24 hours, because we are really looking to move like after the first of the year. But I’m just grateful that we’re like making the decision to move and we’re making it happen. Thing number two that I’m so grateful for is the growth of my social platforms this year, um, Instagram hit over 4100 followers, which is super exciting. I have like, worked really hard on Instagram this year and last year. And I’m really glad to be seeing the growth of that. And I’m also super excited because I started showing up on Pinterest this year to both my Instagram and my Pinterest are going to be in the show notes. And I am just like grateful and excited to see those spaces growing because as an online business owner, it’s really hard to get that exposure. And the really the best and easiest and biggest way to do that is through social media. And I’m just grateful that those places are growing. And if you’re part of those places, thank you for hanging out with me. If you’re not definitely go and check out the links in the show notes and give me a follow on both platforms. I’m only on Instagram and Pinterest. Tiktok is not my space, it will never be my space. I have tried to do tick tock before I have since deleted the app from my phone because it is just it is not my vibe. It’s just not my vibe. thing. Number three that I’m grateful for is launching the sunshine squat membership and having people join. If you don’t know what the sunshine squat community slash membership is, is it is a membership online membership for women just like yourself to come together to live joyfully and intentionally and design the life that they love. And a membership is something that has been on my heart and in my head for such a long time. And I finally was like screw it. We’re doing it. We’re making it happen. I’m committing to this thing. And it has been such a joy ever since we launched it for beta back in July and opened it up to everyone in August. And I’m just so grateful for your interests and those of you who are in it. And all of those things. The membership is truly becoming one of my favorite things that I do. And just having that community space is so special to me. And if you are curious about the sunshine squat and you want more info, check out the link in the show notes. I will link that as well for you. It’s also linked over on my Instagram as well and you can get all the info from there. Thing number four that I am grateful for is getting to speak for a large beat quart company call. So I was asked to do a conversation, a talk, a company wide talk on productivity and how to eliminate the practice of multitasking. And it was the first time that I was ever approached by a company to speak for them. And it was such an a wonderful experience, it was virtual, it was just over zoom. And I just had the best time doing it, like this year, I have gotten to do and this is like a couple of the big points that I’m going to be bringing up. But I’ve had a lot of experience and opportunities this year to speak to larger audiences. And I love that opportunity. I love that experience of, you know, speaking in front of other people like down the road, I would love to do like a tour or like a speaking or go to like a conference or something. But I am so grateful for the opportunity. Like that was one of my first times ever being asked to do something like that. And while it was super nerve wracking, I’m so proud of myself for doing it. And the learning experience from it was something that like I absolutely needed to have. And I’m grateful to have experienced thing number five is launching the on your vision course, the on your vision course is a full course that you can grab right now, off of my Podio website. It is a full course that I really put my heart and soul and whole self into, it is such a tool for those of you who are looking to either figure out what you want to do with your life, or you know what that thing is, and you’re ready to invest in yourself and take the next steps to make that thing happen. That’s why I call it the own your vision course. Because in that course, I teach you how to sort of weed out what your vision is, and then own it and make it happen. And it is such a full comprehensive course, you can grab it right now. Um, it’s just something I’m so proud of. And it’s something that I can’t wait to see more people take advantage of. And it’s definitely something that will go down in the living in sunshine history books as a huge learning experience for me again, which if you know me, you know, I’m all about learning and trying new things, and figuring out what I can grow from because of that experience. Thing number six that I am grateful for is growing my own virtual assistant business in such a short time. So if you don’t know I have a full time full fledged virtual assistant business that I launched, like unofficially accidentally in October of 2021. And between October and now which is November 23. When this episode goes live, I have 12 full time clients that I support, and an additional team member who supports me support those people. And I am so grateful for my clients for the people on my team who helped me do that work for the experience I have had for the income it has brought to my family like my virtual system business is such a happy accident that I’m so grateful for. And it’s something that I will never take advantage for. Because while it’s not something I see myself doing forever, it is 100% that the thing that I needed in the moment and the thing that I need right now to help me sort of get to where I want to go and it’s again yet another thing that has taught me so much about myself how to run a business how to work with other people, and I’m just so grateful for the growth of it throughout 2022 Okay, Thing Number seven is maybe a little bit vain but I do not care this thing number seven that I’m grateful for is doing not one but two living in sunshine branded photoshoots this might sound really like self centered but I love having my photo taken. Like I just I just love having my photo taken I love getting dressed up. I love having a professional photographer take pictures of me. And I love the pictures that I get and I have had so much fun having these branded photo shoots. I did one in April and one in September and they were both so fun. If you are ever in El Paso and you need a photographer recommendation El Paso, Texas, and you need a photographer recommendation, hit me up on Instagram because I have a girl for you. She is so fabulous. She’s So Fine. She does a lot of maternity and portraits and weddings and all of these things. She is great. The photos are great. And I am so proud of doing those branded photoshoots and just having so much fun showing up to them and being so authentically myself and enjoying the experience as it was happening. Thing number eight that I am grateful for is becoming an official LLC Limited Liability Company. The living in sunshine brand company officially became like official back in January of this year. And I’m really counting January as like the conception of living in sunshine. Yes, it’s been around for a very long time. But up until this year, I feel as if I had been trying all of these different things, trying to figure out what I wanted to do experimenting with different ideas. And 2022 You guys have really been my year of saying living in sunshine is where I’m planting my steak. Living in sunshine is what I’m going to be known for and becoming an official LLC was really the big kickoff to a lot of the things that I did this year. The courses, the membership, this podcast, my email, the survey, all of those things stemmed from becoming an official business. And having that LLC stamp might not be a big thing to some people. But to me, it was a huge deal. Like it was a big thing for me. It’s something I’m so proud of. And something that I’m super grateful for, because 2022 is like the birth year of living in sunshine. And I just can’t wait to see where we go from here. Thing Number nine is being interviewed for not one, but two podcasts. As I said earlier, I love getting the opportunity to speak and connect with other people in the online space. And every single talk or interview or invitation to speak in some way always lights me up because I love doing these. And the fact that I was invited to be on two other podcasts makes me so happy. I will link the episodes down below for you. In case you want to go listen and find new podcasts to listen to. But definitely thing number nine being interviewed for two different podcasts is a huge thing that I’m grateful for this year. Things that number 10 and 11 are also very similar to number nine. So number 10 is leading a live call for a membership that someone I know a friend of mine has, she asked me to lead a live masterclass for her membership. And then number 12, or I’m sorry, number 11 is being asked to record a training for another person’s it was called a summer Summit. But again, it’s like a membership. Being asked again, like I’ve said this so many times and if you ever need someone to like do a call for your membership, or your podcast or whatever your course, hit me up your girl is your girl like I’m here for you. So 910 and 11 are all things to be grateful for because they’re all speaking engagements, podcasts, live calls, recorded trainings, all of those things. I’m always always always going to be grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and reach new people because that’s exactly what I want to do. Like I want to do this as my living and that’s really what I’m working towards. And every opportunity to do that is such a blessing. Okay, thing number 12 is relaunching living in sunshine.com. So my website I something that I’ve had for a very long time, like since I was probably a junior or senior in college. And it was like my big focus when I first graduated from school, and then it completely fell off my radar. And this year after becoming an official LLC, I was like, Okay, I need to reboot and rebrand and redo my website and I had the opportunity to work with an incredible web design company. And they did such a wonderful job. I really feel as if the living in sunshine, you know, brand and personality and voice is all over my website. And just having the opportunity to relaunch it in such a wonderful way is a huge point of gratitude because a website is a huge part of any business. And it just felt like another one of those like, I don’t know pegs in the pegboard that says like, I’m legit, this is happening. This is what I do. And look at my website because it’s so freakin cute. And like I love everything about it. So if you haven’t yet checked out living in sunshine.com It’s literally living the letter n sunshine.com. Like everything is with me, you can go check it out right now. It’s beautiful. It has everything on there that you would need. And I’m just obsessed with that. Okay, number 13 is a shared experience with you. And thing number 13 is designing and developing the living in sunshine survey and having over 200 people take it in its first month. What 200 of you took the living in sunshine personality survey. If you haven’t already taken it, it’s linked again in the show notes all of the links from this episode will be linked in the show notes. It’s completely free. And this survey is another one of those things that I had been wanting to do for a very long time. But it was something that I didn’t really know how to do and I actually hired someone on to help me do it. Janis shout out to you You are my literally number one human in my life so much of what happens you guys in the living in sunshine world happens because of Janice and between her and I we created this really fun interactive, engaging and intentional resource for you to use and utilize and grow from and I just love that thing. Number 14 is a personal one and that is the home that Lucas and I have made in the last two years so our house is a hot or cold relationship like totally Katy Perry your hot and your cold your yes and your no that is my relationship with our house. But I know that when we officially leave this house and our house sells which I hope at the time this is this is our our house has sold because it’s currently on the market. When you listen to this, it hopefully is on the market should be anyway So I know that when I leave this home, I will be able to look at it and reflect on it and say, We made this house our home. This is our first home, we made it beautiful, it looks beautiful we put so much love and effort and energy and sweat and so many tears so many tears into this house but I’m genuinely really proud of of the outcome and what it has become over the last few years that Lucas and I have lived in it and I am so excited for somebody else to come in and live in it after us and to to make their own. And I’m just really proud of the the work and the intentionality that we put into our house and I can’t wait to see who else starts to love our house after us. Okay, thing number 15 is welcoming k into our family K is our Husky that we rescued back in July, she was not in the plan at all. Like Lucas and I were literally talking about like renting a house and we’re like it’s gonna be really challenging with four dogs ended up having five now we have five we have five dogs. It’s it’s been a wild year. But I am grateful for her being part of our life. It is such a joy to have her yes, she can be quite challenging. Sometimes we’re still working out some kinks of her being a stray. But I’m grateful that she is part of our family. Now thing number 16 at keeping this train rolling is every single member of the sunshine squad. If you are not part of the sunshine squad, I do not know what you’re waiting for. The women in that space are so genuine are so authentic are so joyful are just so awesome. And if you’re in the sunshine squad, I am so grateful for you like not only are you supporting my business, and you’re supporting me and my family, but you are supporting the other women in that community just by being part of it. And I’m so grateful for you. Thing and number 17 is another personal one, it is the opportunity to witness two of our very closest friends get married this year, Lucas and I were the first of our friend group from college to get married. And because of COVID A lot of our friends had to delay their their weddings and stuff and just getting to watch your friends, like get married to each other is so cool. And so fun and such a joyful thing. It can be sometimes a little bit stressful, like getting there, especially because of where we live. But just being able to be witnessed of someone else’s love is so magical. And being part of that and Lucas especially being part of that he was he’s been in both of these weddings. It’s something that I will always be grateful for. And speaking of our dude Lucas, he is number 18. Lucas like I literally wrote Lucas coma just Lucas, so much of who I am. And what I do is for Lucas but also happens because of Lucas like we there’s so much that we don’t share and I don’t share on social media, but he plays such an integral part in who I am. And what I’m building and my big vision in life and literally so much would not happen both in business and in life if it weren’t for him. And I will always forever and always be grateful that he is part of my life. He is my husband and he’s my partner and he’s my best friend. And I’m going to move on because I could get really sappy but I’m not going to. But 18 is just it’s just Lucas the cute one boy like number one he should be number one, honestly. Okay, thing number 19 is starting and graduating from therapy. So I started therapy back in January or February. And I was in therapy from again January February to like the end of summer, I think I decided to like officially graduate. And I use that term graduating intentionally from therapy at the end of summer, just because I felt like I was in a really good place. And if you’ve ever been in therapy, or you are a mental health professional, like you know that therapy isn’t meant for all people to be a forever thing. And I was definitely one of those people who needed it when I needed it. And I learned a lot from it. And I’m really grateful that I finally took the courage and I kind of put my pride aside to start therapy. But I’m not only grateful for that, but I’m also grateful for the growth that I had while in therapy and being able to graduate from it and do that in like a six to eight month period. And now I know that if I ever need to go back I can if I ever need to ask for help, I can and I have all of these tools and resources now that I didn’t have before because of therapy and I’m just I’m really grateful for that experience. Okay, three more if you’re like, oh my gosh, this episode is so long. We have three more and then we’re done. I really am having a great time though. This is like a great reflection on 2022 This feels really good to do. I’m not gonna lie. Okay, thing number 20 is hitting 50 reviews for the podcast. Now. This is Part gratitude part manifestation because, as I record, we actually haven’t yet hit this review goal, but I’m using it As a plug to go remind you to go leave the podcast a review or rating over on, or not Instagram over on Apple podcasts because this is a big goal of mine for 2022. And I would really appreciate your help in making this happen. And if we have already hit 50 podcast episode reviews, stay tuned for a giveaway, because I have one for you that is going to be exclusive to the podcast thing number 21 That I am grateful for is welcoming, amazing support members to the living in sunshine team. So this year, I had the opportunity and the growth and the need, I guess, for more help in my business. And this year, I’ve managed to hire on a virtual assistant for my virtual assistant business. And yes, I know that sounds as funky as it does, it is a little bit odd. But my VA This has got to a point of where I couldn’t do it all alone. And so I hired on one person to help me. And then I actually recently hired on what is called an OBM, which is an online business manager. Shout out to my girl, Janice. Here she is again showing up twice in this episode, Jen is I’m grateful for you your thing number 23. I am so grateful for these women being part of the living in sunshine brand and vision and experience. And without them like I would not get the things done that I get done. And I say this because I want you to know, if you are a budding business owner, or you are a business owner, or you have the dream of being a business owner, like you don’t need to do it alone. And there are rarely people like if you ever hear someone say like I’m a self made millionaire. No, they’re not like they’re they’re lying, there’s so little chance that they actually did all of the things that made them that kind of money on their own. And I never want to paint the picture that I do all of the things that I do alone, because I don’t and I’m so grateful and lucky to have such amazing support in my life and in my business because without them things would not get done like just point blank things would not get done. And finally, the 22nd thing that I’m grateful for from 2022 is the personal growth that I have had this year. Now if you have listened to the podcast long enough, or you have followed me on Instagram long enough, you know that 2021 was probably the hardest and worst year in my entire life. Like it was just a roller coaster, a big scary roller coaster that I could not seemingly get off of. And when I went into this year thinking, please universe guide, fate, the force, whatever you believe in, like, please just give me a year where I feel so content and happy and joyful. And 2022 Was that like truly, I have grown so much as an individual so much as a business owner so much as a wife and as a friend, that I am a new person, like I’m a totally different person than I was a year ago. And I know that we still have a full month left of the year like this sounds like an end of year reflection. It’s not. But I’m just so grateful for the growth and the experiences and the things that I have learned and the challenges that I have faced because they have made me who I am today. And I’m so grateful for that because I really believe that I’m heading towards 2023 writing a high of really great things and I can’t wait to see how that comes into fruition and how that manifests and develops into a new year. And I’m just so grateful for that truly. And that is everything you guys 22 things that I am grateful for in 2022 I got a breath, I’m tired. I’m not gonna lie, that was a lot to go through. I feel like I just like had a full life reflection in 25. And I’m ready for a nap. But I hope this episode has encouraged you to take time this month. There’s still time in November to practice a little bit of gratitude for your year like what has gone well, what has taught you something where is somewhere that you can grow and what is something that you can maybe focus on for next year. I know as we get closer to the end of the year, we start to make our new goals for the new year. So start that process now and know that whether you have one thing or 42 things to be grateful for this year, gratitude is such a powerful practice and I really hope that all month long our discussion on this topic and this theme has really encouraged you to implement gratitude into your daily life. Because I promise you it will change your life if you let it until next week, my friends I am sending you all the sunshine good vibes and I hope you make it a great day. That is all I have for you today my dudes and I hope you love today’s episode. If you did, I would seriously appreciate it. If you went and left the show a review and reading on whatever platform you’re currently listening on. For every review and rating that you leave it truly helps the show grow and reach more women just like yourself. If you had any major takeaways or aha moment Be sure to take a screenshot of this episode, post it to your social media stories with your biggest takeaways and tag me at living in sunshine so I can share it with my people as well. Again, thank you so much for hanging out with me this week and until next time, I am sending you all the sunshine good vibes and I hope you make it a great day.
