Episode 42: [TIPS&TRICKS] 3 Simple Goals You Can Set This Year if You Don’t Know Where to Start!

Feeling stuck in what kind of goals to set for 2022? I got you girl! Today I am sharing the top three things that I did last year that I think everyone should set as a goal for this year. These three things might seem small, but the impact they have when you commit to them is massive! Even if you do know what your goals are for 2022, I am going to challenge you to take at least one of these things and add it to your list of things to work on.

And I am so excited to have you tuning in to our weekly podcast episodes, where we chat all the things from tips and tricks to funny stories from my life that have helped me to truly live in the sunshine. In this space, we are all about encouraging, inspiring and giving you the tough love that you need to hear sometimes to realize that you are totally made for more than what you currently have in life, and that you hold the power to make the changes that you need to level up and live your best self. So buckle up, grab some water, and let’s get into it. Good morning, my dads and Happy Wednesday. And welcome back to the living in sunshine podcast. Last week, we are talking all about goals all month long in January because each month on the living and sunshine podcast, we have different themes. So back in December, we talked all about how to cast a vision what that word vision even means. And this month to sort of roll right off of casting a vision, we’re going to be talking about goals. And this week, we’re talking about three simple goals that you can set this year if you don’t really know where to start. So as I mentioned, this month podcasting for January is goals and goal setting. And for today’s episode, I’m going to give you three simple goals that you can set this year if you feel like you don’t really know where to start. Now let me say this, I truly believe that everyone should set these goals for the new year whether you know what your goals are for 2022 or not. All of these things are things that I have personally implemented last year and still implement now. And things I really, truly believe helped me to live in the sunshine every single day. And if you’re like what does that mean to live in the sunshine, that just means to live your best life at the highest vibration that you can and to purposely pursue joy every single day and truly to my core to my but I believe that these things helped me get there. Okay. So they’re really simple things that have great intention and impact behind them. So make sure to write them down. Really listen to this episode. If you’re listening to it while it goes live on January 12. Or like six months from now, I cannot recommend doing these things enough because they have truly helped me to level up in my life and honestly live my best life every single day. So the first one if you are not new to the living in Sunshine Community, you are not going to be surprised by this one at all. But it is to set boundaries where you know you need to set them and then follow through on them. Okay, I’m gonna say that again, and then follow through on them. Okay, so it’s not enough to just set a boundary and then never actually like follow through on it right. So let me tell you what I mean by this because this is hands down the number one best thing that I did for myself last year, and I cannot recommend it enough to more people. I talk about it all the time over on Instagram I talked about on the podcast probably at least once a month, because it really is a huge game changer for people like myself, who are maybe pushovers who are Enneagram type twos, who are people pleasers, who just want to make everyone happen Who are you know, Switzerland, quote, unquote, you guys boundaries are something that you need to be implementing, even if you are hard headed, fully confident, stand up with your back straight, all that kind of stuff, you still need to be setting boundaries in your life, I promise you. So if you don’t know what I mean, by boundaries, I mean, by having set expectations for the other people in your life, and for yourself, it having that hard line where you either say, I’m not talking about this with you, I’m not participating in this, I am not going to, you know, partake in this habit or this routine anymore. boundaries can look like a lot of different things, you guys, and these boundaries could be in your relationship, could be with your work could be on social media could be personal with yourself, could be boundaries, literally anything counts. And let me just say this for my type two Enneagram, I see you, I love you. I’m a three wing two. So I am you. Boundaries are not a bad thing. Boundaries are a good way of being selfish. And it’s not a bad thing to set a boundary. To me, I believe that setting a boundary is the highest level of self respect that you can have for yourself, truly. And I mean, that is something that I had to learn was setting boundaries can be really, really hard. But what’s even harder is following through on them. And I say this because I have had to practice this in my own life with boundaries that I set with myself with people in my family with people that I worked with a whole bunch of things that you guys, I promise you, when you learn to set intentional boundaries within your life, you are going to thrive, okay, but you have to also implement them and follow through on them as well, which is going to be the hardest part. But I promise you, when you make that commitment, and you actually follow through on them, that’s when you are going to thrive. The next simple goal that you can set in 2022. And see massive results and impact from you guys, is to commit to moving your body intentionally at least four times a week. Now you guys know that I have a history with health wellness, I love talking about my fitness journey on Instagram, that’s been a big thing that’s been part of my life for a really long time now, but I’m not going to stand here and tell you that you need to like work out for 60 minutes every single day of your life. Because if we’re being honest with ourselves, that’s really not sustainable. A lot of us have jobs have multiple jobs, we might have kids, we might have a lot of dogs or animals like I do, and 60 minutes a day, every single day, not sustainable. I’m not even giving you like a time limit. I’m just telling you to get your butt up off your chair, away from your desk and moving intentionally four times a week. And you guys, it’s 2022. Like literally we all know after the last two years, how important taking care of ourselves is to where if you’re still not getting it, I don’t know what else to tell you. But this year, if nothing else, commit to moving your body at least four times a week just to sort of see how you feel afterwards. Are you going to be sore? Probably Are you going to want to give up probably both of those things aren’t okay though. Because when you start to take care of yourself in that way, you’re going to see ripple effects in other parts of your life. I have seen this in the health and wellness online community that I run, I have seen this with myself with my mom with my husband, fitness is more than just fitness and moving your body intentionally. It’s another level of self respect. You deserve to treat yourself well. You deserve to make time for yourself in this way. And when I say moving your body intentionally. I’m not just saying like a crazy hit CrossFit class. I’m saying going for a walk. I’m saying going for a hike on the weekend. I’m saying participating in yoga or pilates, or a hit class or CrossFit. Whatever makes you happy and get you excited. Get moving, say yes, do it four times a week for 30 days and see how you feel. If you don’t see any improvement, you can come and tell me I told you so on Instagram, but I promise you, you’re going to start to see that commitment to your health and fitness journey. That same commitment start to seep into other parts of your life. So this year, respect yourself enough to move your body daily or at least four times a week right if Bailey is not sustainable for you in some way, and take note of how it makes you feel and if you do feel overwhelmed by all of the choices and all of the options out there for how to move your body and you need a starting space. I do love to chat with you about what works for me, I understand that what works for me doesn’t work for everyone totally fine, I don’t care what you do, I just want you to get off your butt and get moving for once. But if you need a starting spot, come let me know. And finally, the third goal that you can set and commit to in 2022. If you’re having a hard time figuring out where to even start is to implement a morning routine that actually supports your mental and emotional health. And I hope at this point, you can see that all three of these things help you emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, all of those things, because I want 2022 to be the year that you say, no more treating myself like crap, no more putting myself last, no more saying I don’t have time for myself. Okay, so this third one is so important. And you guys know how much I love my mornings. And I know my night owls are gonna be really angry with this one. But I promise you getting up early is not as bad as you think it is, it might suck, and you might not like it. But getting your feet on the floor, getting out of bed and moving away from your bed and your comfy comforter, and all of that good stuff is the hardest part of your whole day. And when you’re starting to sort of develop your morning routine, I want you to include things like three points of gratitude every single morning and writing three types of affirmations in your planner or your journal or a piece of paper or wherever clewd things like quiet time and personal development into your morning routine. Because I find you guys and again, I would never tell you to do something that I don’t do myself. But I find that when I get up and get moving my whole day, from start to finish goes so much better and smoother, and I’m more productive and have more creativity and honestly more energy than when I sleep in. And the thing with a morning routine, you guys is it going to look different for everyone. So I want you as you try new things as you implement different things. Take note of the things that you’re just like this is too much. Don’t overcomplicate it, this is taking too long, I need to shorten it down. Make it something that you look forward to doing because for me, my morning routine is something that gets me out of bed. I look forward to waking up early. And I usually get up by like 545 or six. And that’s good enough for me, right? It’s not 4am like it used to be, but it’s still pretty good. But I look forward to getting up having my quiet time taking time to practice gratitude and write my affirmations and drink my cup of coffee by myself while I listen to my audiobook. Those things excite me those things help set me up for success and help me to have a really great day. And I’m getting after this goal, this dream this whatever that I’ve had in my heart and in my head for years now. This is my year. And if you need a launching spot if you need a launch pad for your goal setting for 2020 to take one of these three things, they’re so simple, yet will make such a great impact on your overall health and well being to where if they don’t have any kind of impact at all, I want you to tell me because we’re doing something wrong and we’ve got to troubleshoot that. And if you’re really feeling bold, I encourage you to take on all three of these things this year. Do it one at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed. But I promise you all three of these things have changed the game for me and I know they will for you as well.
